Benton Harbor’s revitalized downtown has become home to a variety of retail shops, local restaurants and art galleries. The Arts District is home to Water Street Glassworks, which is a non-profit studio, gallery and school that teaches, displays and offers glass and metal works created by students. Additionally, there is the Water Street Gellato Works, which serves ice cold Palazzolo’s gelato and Uncommon Grounds coffee. The business provides funding for the organizations Fired Up! Program, as well as job training for students. Also located in the Arts District is Anna Russo Sieber’s Gallery. The gallery features exhibits of both local and national artists, along with art, language and cultural classes and outreach programs.
 

210 Water Street offers a great opportunity to meet local artists working in their studios. 3 Pillars Gallery, an intermittent urban gallery, offers various creative events. The Arts District is also home to Richard Hunt Studio Center which is one of the galleries/studios of internationally acclaimed sculptor Richard Hunt. Further, be sure to check out The Citadel Dance & Music Center along with The Oak Room at the Citadel for performing arts instruction and events.


There are a variety of charming and distinctive places to sample various cuisines in and around downtown Benton Harbor. These include The Phoenix, Larks Bar-B-Que, Charlie's Piggin' N' Grinnin', The Library Pub & Eatery, The Chatterbox, The Ideal Place, Cafe Mosaic (located on Main Street), the Bread Bar and Babe’s Bar and Grill (both located on Riverview Drive). The Livery is an award winning microbrewery that offers an outdoor bier garden, food, in addition to concerts and live entertainment.
